🌾 Stade’s Farm & Market began its journey in 1977 when Vernon “Vern” Stade 🚜 started a dairy operation on what would become the current farm site. Back then, the land was home to dairy cows 🐄, corn 🌽, soybeans 🌱, and hay 🌾. However, things took a turn in 1989 when a friend backed out of a produce-growing partnership. Vern decided to grow vegetables himself on just two acres 🥕, setting up a small roadside stand to sell fresh produce directly to the public.
Thanks to growing customer interest, Vern gradually expanded his offerings. By 1997, he introduced the farm’s first u-pick pumpkin patch 🎃, and it was an instant hit.
